Creating a Tactic
This page explains how to create a tactic for use in a methodology.
Step 1: From the Manage page of the Runbooks module, click the Tactics tab.
Step 2: Click Create.
Step 3: Enter a title, ID, description, and any tags for the tactic in the appropriate fields.
Step 4: Select a methodology.
Step 5: Select one or more techniques from the list provided by clicking the ID (edit this list by visiting the Techniques tab). A green checkbox will appear confirming addition. Click Select All to include all available techniques. Use the search box to find a specific title.
Step 6: Scroll back to the top of the page and click Save and Continue.
A confirmation message will briefly appear if successful.
Step 7: Assign the tactic to one or more methodologies by clicking the methodology (edit this list by visiting the Methodologies tab). A green checkbox will appear confirming the choice. Click Select All to include all available methodologies. Use the search box to find a specific methodology.
Step 8: Scroll back to the top of the page and click Assign Tactic.
A confirmation message will briefly appear if successful.
Existing tactics can be edited by clicking Edit for the desired methodology under the "Actions" column.
